Product Description

Product Introduction: 

SBAC is one of four butyl acetate isomers. This colorless, flammable liquid with fruity odor can dissolve many resins and organic matters. Normally, SBAC has similar properties with other butyl acetate isomers but lower boiling point and faster evaporating speed.  

Synonyms: Acetic acid sec-butyl ester; 1-Methylpropyl Acetate

Product Use:(1) Used as solvent in industries such as resins, coatings, printing inks, curing agent, thinner, adhesive etc. With good solubility and moderate evaporating speed, SBAC can be used as a low cost and low toxicity solvent to replace n-butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, toluene, xylene and MIBK.

(2) Used both as solvent and as reaction medium in the production of resins like polyurethane, acrylic acid and alcohol acid.Owing to strong solubility and good emulsifying effect, SBAC is beneficial for well distribution of reactors and increase of conversion rate.

(3) Used in the makeup of cleaning agents like screen washing agent, mold cleaning agent, panel cleaning agent and port cleaner, etc.

(4) In the production of emulsifiable concentrate (EC) and pesticide preparations, SBAC can replace methanol, toluene, xylene, etc. SBAC has the advantages of lower price, better solubility, lower toxicity, better emulsifying effect, stronger chemical stability and simpler purchasing procedures.

(5) Used in pharmaceutical industry

SBAC can be used as extraction agent in the production of antibiotic (such as penicillin and erythrocin), hormone and vitamin. Besides, it can also be used as promoting component of drug absorption because of its moderate evaporating speed and good skin permeability.

(6) Used in fine chemicals

As chiral molecule,SBAC can be used as reaction medium, e.g., in the synthesis of trialkyl amine oxide, N,N-dipropenyl ethanediamine, etc.; Second, it can be used as extraction agent in fine chemicals, e.g., in extracting and separating ethanol-propanol and acrylic acid, etc.; Third, it can also be used as azeotropic agent during the process of recycling acetic acid; Besides, it can be used in cosmetics industry, e.g., in the production of nail polish.

(7) Used in flavoring industry

SBAC can be used as flavors and fragrances due to its special fruity odor.  

(8)Used in the manufacturing of celluloid products, rubber, safety glass, coated paper, patent leather, fluorescent tube, etc., and used as quick drying agent of photosensitive materials.

(9) Used as gasoline additives. SBAC is widely used as a high octane number gasoline additive for its RON 125.
